Name Lap Distance Description
Arthur's Creek 11km

One of our closest races to Melbourne's North and East!

Balliang 25km

Largely flat course with wind swept fields.  There is one decent hill on the back straight.  3k section of gravel road at 5k before the finish.  The condition of the gravel changes with the weather before the event and with the wind playing a factor, the weather has an impact on race tactics.

Parking: No parking at CFA please.

Balliang (Hell of the West) 90km

The Combine Championship course that can suit any type of rider - climbers, sprinters, all rounders.  Essentially to win you need to work your tail off.  The big climb (at over 1k with sections well exceeding 20% you need at least a 39x28 gearing for this) happens with 40k left to go, so even if you get over quickly, the pack is still chasing you.  Don't forget Granite Hill with 14k left or the 3k dirt section leading into the finish, finally with a 500m flat finishing straight.  It is anybody's game.

Balliang Time Trial 24km
Broadford 33km

Some fantastic roads that you will love on lap 1, push yourself on lap 2 and fight cramps on lap 3.  Plenty of short climbs means the small riders will need to restrain themselves if they want any help from the others through the flats and descents.

Kirksbridge (Little River) 20km
La Trobe University 3km This 3 kilometre course feels like is was nearly designed for a bike race with many different aspects that will suit a combination of skills.  This course formed a large portion of the Australian National Championships from the 1980's.  The sprint will be technical and fast right in the heart of the campus.
Metcalfe Redesdale 95km

A tough day out on gorgeous roads.  Plenty of punchy climbs throughout the course combined with the distance make this a good one to test your form at the end of summer.

Note that course is shortened for lower grades

Newham 30km

A mostly flat course that is a perenial favourite.  A 1k climb can test a few riders, but it is usually the wind on the back straight and last 5k that determine what will happen here.

Pastoria 21km

Our Belgian special.  Some beautiful rolling roads through open fields and wooded sections.  If the wind is kicking up, you can quickly find yourself in the wrong spot.  The 2k leading into the finish is a fast flat, but that comes after the St. Mary's climb that will cause the pack to splinter into smaller groups - tactics.

South Gisborne 8km

Fast, windy road, climb, fast descent – repeat! You'll just be getting your breath and legs back and you'll be climbing again!

State Motorcycle Sports Complex 2km

Course is wide, flowy and super smooth with ~49m of vert per lap

Woodend (Carlsruhe West) 25km

Generally rolling hills and not much to trouble Combine riders of all types, a fun day out.  The train crossing and wind can have an impact.
